Home Screen

Your brew, without opening the app.

New widgets keep your latest brew and key settings close at hand, with quick access to Log Again or Log a Brew — right from your Home Screen.

  • Medium widget shows the bean, roaster, and drink type from your last brew, along with dose, yield, ratio, time, and pressure — with Log Again and Log a Brew buttons.
  • Small widget keeps it compact: bean, drink type, dose, yield, and time, with one-tap Log Again.
  • Both widgets update automatically after every brew, so what's on your Home Screen is always your most recent pull.

Beans

Know what to brew, before you brew it.

Add ideal drink recommendations based on your bean's characteristics, like roast level — with links straight to the corresponding drink in Discover.

  • Recommended Drinks now appears on every bean, grouped into Best Match and Also Works.
  • Tap any recommendation to jump straight to its recipe in Discover.
  • Recommendations are based on how that roast level typically tastes — light, medium, medium-dark, or dark.

A new Your Equipment section in Profile keeps every grinder and brew method you've logged organized and easy to manage.

  • Your Equipment sits right under Your Journal, with Grinders and Brew Method as its own entries.
  • See every piece of equipment you've used or logged, in one list.
  • Remove equipment you no longer use, and add new equipment as your setup changes.

Ratings

A better moment to ask.

If you're enjoying Nine Bar, we'll ask — just not right away, and not too often.

  • Nine Bar no longer asks for a rating on launch or after your very first bean.
  • The prompt now appears after real signs you're getting value from the app — like logging several brews or reusing Log Again.
  • One tap to rate on the App Store, or dismiss with Not Now.

Small touches, aimed at real use

Home Screen widgets, a free sticker pack for Messages, better suggestions when you need them, a clearer record of your gear, and a rating prompt that shows up when it's actually earned — plus smaller refinements throughout, to make managing your coffee journal smoother.
